The Taste of Buche

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the very first edition of Eating With Trae... The delicacy that I decided to indulge and taste for the first time were Tacos de Buche. If you do not know what Buche is, it is the throat of the cow. I will admit that when my mom and I were talking about what to try for my first food Buche made me a little nervous. I mean it is the throat of an animal for goodness sake! However I decided hey I wanna be a food critic and some of the foods I will try in the future may be far worse than the throat of an animal so I decided what the heck I am just gonna eat it!
     I must admit that I am very glad that I decided to try Tacos de Buche because the taste of these tacos were AWESOME! The texture of the Buche was quite resistant with a rubbery feel to it, but full of flavor and spice at the same time. I had to chew a little more than usual but with the flavor of the chile, lemon, and onions it was not a big deal chewing a little extra with each bite. Although the texture did not bother me at all I do feel that Buche is not going to be for everyone. My mom for example can't handle weird textures with her food so this would definitley not be a good choice for her. Also people who cannot get past the idea of eating throat this may not be the best option for you. However if you just want an awesome tasting taco then this is the taco for you!!!! I definitely would recommend these tacos from Don Pepe Products here in Fresno CA. I am very glad I tried them and the flavor, texture, spice from the chile, and the lemon were a match made in heaven and my tastebuds would love to eat these again very soon!
